Many of our customers are choosing to store for the first time. Here you can review a list of questions we have been asked, over and over again, in our decades of storage experience.

Is this your first time exploring options for extra storage space? Don’t worry! You are not alone. Many who are seeking additional storage space are finding themselves in that same position. Every staff member at A-1 Self Storage is trained in providing excellent customer service at every stage of storage.

Do I need my own lock?

The doors to our storage units feature custom made latches that require a specific kind of lock. We sell the appropriate locks in the rental office and we do require all tenants to lock their storage unit.

How long is the term of my storage unit lease?

Rental agreements are on a month to month basis at A-1 Self Storage. We use anniversary billing, your rent is due on the same day of the month, each month, on the date you initially rented.

How soon should I give notice before moving out?

You must give us a written move out notice at least 10 days prior to vacating, but we ask customers to give notice 30 days in advance of their planned move out date. Written notice can be given in person during office hours. Provide notice outside of office hours using your online account. You can also give notice by email or by mail.

Are there any additional fees?

No! At A-1 Self Storage, we keep additional fees to a minimum. We require zero deposit and no administration fee in order to rent a storage unit from us. We trust customers to leave their storage units move in ready.

What are my payment options?

We strive to make this process as easy as possible! We accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Autopay can be set up using your tenant portal login. At the start of each month, our system will charge your credit card for the amount due. This convenient payment option helps you avoid late charges and makes renting stress-free. 

Cash payments can be made in person. Checks can be mailed to us or delivered in person. Credit Cards are accepted in person or over the phone during office hours. After-hours payments can be deposited into the drop box at our office or submitted online using your account login.

When do I have access to my storage unit?

Thanks to individual access codes, our tenants have access to the storage facility 7 AM - 9 PM, every day of the year.

Do you have insurance available?

We offer competitive insurance rates through a company that specializes in self storage insurance. Insurance coverage can be purchased at move in for an additional monthly charge, or you can obtain insurance from a third party company. Be prepared to show proof of insurance before signing your lease.
